Looks good but had to be sent back due to a fault

Liked the turntable a lot but had a problem which had been highlighted by a few reviews, cannot play the 1st track because arm jumps to the center of the record, as this is not satisfactory sent back and got a full refund, others have said how good it is, i think it just lucky if you get a good one.
Received my refund from Amazon, was contacted by the 1byone who said they were sorry i had a problem with record deck and would i like an alternative unit to try, received a 1byone deck as the picture, tried this unit out and its great, works fine, smaller, looks good, would rate this as 4 stars, sound quality not so good on own speaker but great though my CD system.
I would rate 1byone 5 star for there great service

Stylish, Powerful, Timeless

Over the past few years vinyl has seen quite a resurgence in popularity, from the nostagic collectors to young enthusiasts who tripped over their parents collection gathering dust in the attic. Vinyl is coming back in a bigger way than many could have predicted. This turntable by 1byOne aims to bridge the gap between old school music playing and the new age (digital music) in a compact retro looking wrapper.

The 1byone bluetooth turntable is a belt driven vinyl player that can also integrate with bluetooth enabled devices and help you archive your collection to mp3 for listening on the go. It has built-in 2w stereo speakers, optional RCA ports for speaker connection (or headphones, see below) and aux in for connection of 3.5mm devices. The speakers while small in wattage pack quite a punch in the sound department, you can more than comfortably fill a medium sized room in quite lush sound at just over ⅔ of the max volume. As the turntable has no dedicated headphone port you would have to buy an additional cable to utilize the rear RCA connection like the following;

https://www.amazon.co.uk/connecting-smartphones-tablets-players-theater/dp/B00B2HP1FY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1471716737&sr=8-1&keywords=rca+to+female+3.5mm

Bluetooth pairing is quick and stable, allowing local playback from your phone, iPod or tablet or streaming from your favourite online services such as Apple Music or Spotify.
One touch recording of your vinyl record playing can be completed from the ‘phono-rec’ button. The file being saved as a 160kbps mp3 file to a FAT formatted USB flash drive. Playback can then be made either on the turntable or edited on your PC/Mac for use on other devices.
(Please note; the recording is made as one mp3 file, tracks are not auto split into separate files but this can be done using Audacity quite easily. Single vinyl side of around five 3 minute tracks clocks in at around 17mb).

The dust cover is a welcome addition, allowing your favourite record to remain in place without collecting dust. Rounding out the player is an auto power save feature after 8 minutes of non-use and automatic stopping of your record once the final track is played and/or recorded to a USB flash drive.

On the whole this is a very good turntable with a little something for everyone, whether you're a seasoned vinyl player or new to the scene coming from a lifetime of CD’s and online streaming. Build quality is very good for a player weighing under 5kg; feels solid during use, looks stylish and should give years of good service.

Excellent player

Having bought an awful Crosley unit some time ago, then given up with frustration, I came across this. I don't hesitate to give it 5 stars because it really does do exactly what it says it does: plays vinyl well. Not hifi, but very good sound and volume nonetheless.
It looks to be much more expensive than it is, and appears to be well made -- compared with anything by Crosley or Steepletone that I've tried. The sound is so much better, and the volume is plenty for even a large room.
Very pleased with this, and would recommend it to anyone who just wants to listen to their old discs again, without looking for real high-fidelity.

The speakers are not excessively loud, but produce a moderate level of sound amplification.

Having been born at a time when record players, changed to CD players, and now MP3 players, you miss a certain quality in the traditional turntable musical sound that is indescribable. This unit combines the old-fashion design of a turntable and incorporates the modern functionality with features including: Bluetooth, MP3 recording capability (from vinyl).

The speaker is built into the device and produces a balanced and rich dynamic sound that is different in terms of originality with vinyl records. Being able to wirelessly pair with the Bluetooth turntable is an incredible feat as you may fool your friends when you are able to deliver a wire free stereo quality sound from the turntable. However, if you don’t have a phone with Bluetooth connectivity, then you can always resort to an aux cable.

The top dust cover is built of a solid plastic that from a distance resembles glass. So it causes it to have a more traditional style. There are full range stereo speakers, so that you can achieve an optimised quality sound no matter what music you prefer. The speakers are not excessively loud, but produce a moderate level of sound amplification. However, if you need to complement it with external speakers, you are able to do this through the RCA output or auxiliary port.

There are three speed settings from 33/45/ and 78 RPM (rotations per minute). There is also an adapter for the 45 RPM setting. A great use for the device especially if you have old vinyl records and have not purchased the latest MP3 for the great oldies is that you can essentially transfer audio from the vinyl through USB and translate it into MP3 format, which then you can use on your iPod or other MP3 player. I paired the turntable with my Galaxy S5 wirelessly and through aux cable and experienced no compatibility issues.

The unit is not completely automatic, so you will have to return the arm to the arm rest when the end of the record is reached, which is not a major inconvenience. The tone arm needs be released when playing your record and there is a lever that slides over automatically onto the record. The vintage essence of this turntable is what drew me to listening more and more to vinyl records both from the past and present.

I didn’t experience any skipping in my music, since I was using more modern vinyl’s in pristine condition. Overall, it would be nice if the particular modern vinyl’s that I was listening to had more than few songs, but that’s probably a size limitation that isn’t changeable. I did convert a lot of the vinyl songs into MP3, and although it is a feat in being able to do this, the sampling rate of 16 khz as opposed to the industry norm of 44.1 khz is a little lower quality than I had hoped.

On balance, this is a good device for the entry-level audiophiles, casual users to professional because of its performance value and modern feature rich functionalities.

I was provided with a sample for testing and review. I agreed to provide a fair and honest review covering both positive and negative aspects of the product. If you have any questions please leave me a comment and I'll try to answer it if I can.

Hitting all the right notes

Wow. I get a LOT of products from Amazon and I'm rarely this pleased with a product.

The 1ByOne belt driven Bluetooth turntable looks stunning. I've grown up around old school vintage record players; The plastic clear dust cover, the wooden surround, the jet black accents... Wow, they remind me of the premium turntables my parents used to own and play music to me on growing up. It does not look cheap like other things I've seen reviewed on here, it looks like something that could be the centre piece of a man cave, living room, study or bedroom.

It has built in speakers that sound great, much better than I expected. They of course can be complimented on with a line out to speakers. It has the standard 3 speeds (33 45 78 RPM) allowing the full range of vinyl to be played with ease!

Now, that's what you HOPE is on a vinyl player you're buying. This however takes it up a level or seven.

You can bring the player to the 20th century by hooking up your smartphone via Bluetooth. This allows me, sat in my sofa, to effortlessly play my Spotify or MP3 collection through the device without moving a muscle. The Bluetooth has a great reach too. This also allows you to play the radio or podcasts through it.

It also blows my mind in the fact you can record your vinyl collection to MP3. I have a few vinyls from small, long split up bands that there is no chance of finding the MP3. I have been able to record these all to MP3 using the functionality on there, pop them on a USB and save them to my computer to make sure I never lose them. I love how I'm listening to a 500 copy vinyl, produced decades ago on my iPhone when running. It's just insane.

Now, I did receive this product to test for free but this does not change the review. I am a product reviewer who prides himself on honest reviews and this product is not only one I recommend but one I intend to buy for my best friend for Christmas as well.
