I was sent this product as a free sample to evaluate and review.....
That will teach me to not read the description closely as I do not have a single piece of technology that has a USB-C port!
So testing the little USB hub is just not possible.....However as 1byone were good enough to send the hub to me it would only be fair of me to at least give my impressions of it!
The Hub comes well packed in a decent little box that contains it very well.
The Hub is a very nice looking aluminium cylinder with a flat base, included is a double sticky backed Velcro strip to glue on the base with the other strip glued on your desk or wherever, the Hub is then held nicely in place.
The cable is pretty short and is permanently attached to the hub...I think the makers have missed a trick here as a USB charger connection on the hub would have made the hub available to a much wider range of buyers, as the USB-C hub is pretty new, and not many people have this connection yet!
So all in all a very nice little hub at a reasonable price.
Hey guys its TheCrazyTechReviewer here and in today's video, I'm going to be reviewing the 1 byone 3.0 usb type c hub. Let's get into this.
So first up, I reviewed a similar product like this before except bigger and without usb type c. This is perfect for the people who bought the new MacBook's. The first reason is cuz the new MacBook only has one usb input. And the second reason is that this hub has 4 different usb input that allows you to charge and transfer your phones data to your computer without buying an usb type c converter. I definitely recommend anyone using the new MacBook since this will make their lives a whole lot easier.
I personally don't have a MacBook myself so I can't demonstrate how it works. But when you plug in it to your computer, All this does is turn a green light on meaning that it's connected. Then when you plug in a device Your computer will automatically detect the device.
So I hope you guys liked this video. I will the link down below for more details and don't forget to leave a like and subscribe, peace out!
Well made aluminimum 7 USB outport. Connects up to the MacBook and allows you to expand and connect to USB items such as memory sticks.
Great items with many ports built to last.
This product is really good if you have a type c input or need lots of usb ports as you can use just with the plug.
Therefore because I don't have an type c inputs so I use it for my desk with the plug and so far it works really well.
I've had the odd port not work but overall its been brilliant and its worked really well and it has a brilliant metallic design and I love the layout of it how there is 4 ports on 1 side and then 3 on the other.
However I do believe that if you have a type c input and an option for wall plug then the type c cable should be detachable as if gets in the way.
Also the base isn't designed too well as velro is annoying and can only be in one place and bottom scratches my desk so I would recommend using a mat
This is a review of the 1byone 4 port USB 3.0 hub. It's used to add four additional USB 3.0 ports to a machine that has a USB 3.1 Type-C port.
The box contained:
• The hub
• A small instruction manual
The hub itself is a compact cylinder in shape, only a little bigger than a lipstick, with a pair of USB input ports on each side. The one end of the cylinder has an Apple-like machined pattern and the other end has the cable that connects to your machine. The base of the hub is flat, with two legs to rest on. Note - this hub *only* works with machines that have USB 3.1 Type-C connectors (for example, the 2015 12" MacBook and Chromebook Pixel).
The compact size means that it's very portable - ideal to pop into your laptop bag. Its styling is quite similar to that of Apple products, with a brushed aluminium look and white cable. The manual is quite basic, but for a product such as this you don't really need much more than that. The manual did mention the hub having a USB Type-A connector and showed Windows XP screenshots, so I'm guessing it was originally used for another product...
The hub supports USB 3.0 Super Speed transfers (up to 5Gbps, the maximum speed) but is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices too.
Installation is pretty much plug 'n play - just connect the hub to your machine and you will have additional USB 3.0 ports available. I had no problems using it with a 12" MacBook. My iPhone 6 charges fine when connected to the hub, as does my iPad, and I've had no problems using a mixture of other devices such as hard disks, flash drives, etc. I've had no problem reaching USB 3.0 speeds for those devices that support it (external hard disks in particular and an SSD in an external enclosure).
There are a few minor downsides to this hub. The first is that the USB input cable is not removable. This means that if the cable is damaged beyond repair you can't simply replace it - you'll need to buy another hub. The second is that the hub is quite light and, due to its shape, it tends to not sit flat on a desk when in use. The third downside affects machines that only have a single USB port, like the MacBook. The hub cannot be used at the same time as you're charging. It would've been great if 1byone had added a Type-C port to the hub for charging purposes - some other hubs do have that ability.
+ No compatibility problems, full USB 3.0 support
+ Compact and portable
+ Stylish Apple-like look and feel
- Non-removable output cable
- Light, so difficult to keep flat when in use
- No USB-C pass through for charging
Overall, I like this hub a lot. I had no compatability problems using it, it's stylish and works exactly as described. It has a few little niggles but it's still highly recommended, particularly at the bargain price it's currently available at (just over £10).

I own a Macbook and everyone that has one knows it does NOT have enough USB plugins, which is why I use USB hubs, I currently have a cheap USB hub which works just fine but it is a few years old, so when I was given this "1byone 3-Port USB-C to USB 3.0 Aluminum Hub with 1-Port Ethernet for Apple MacBook” as a promotion/discount in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED review (I will give just that & trust me, I don't give good reviews if it's not deserving) I jumped all over it.
I need to mention that I took this offer AFTER I realised I purchased the "1byone SuperSpeed Aluminum USB 3.0 7-Port Hub with BC 1.2 Charging Port" which was HORRIBLE. It for some reason kept cutting off my internet which I found weird. So I don't have to tell you I did NOT have high hopes for this AT ALL!
I also need to mention that this is not compatible with my Macbook because my Mac does NOT have a USB-C port BUT I do happen to own a Converter Adapter so back in business.
So to my surprise, this worked great UNLIKE the other I had. Did not cut off my internet at all not did it seem to slow down. Not sure why this worked and the larger more expensive one did not. I was able to connect many things to this "1byone SuperSpeed Aluminum USB 3.0 7-Port Hub with BC 1.2 Charging Port" including my WD external Hard Drive and that connected!
This did not come with an AC plug like the one that I sent back but NBD. I do NOT like the cord because it is stiff and not all that flexible but not a deal breaker. The cord length is short but perfect for me.
So I am impressed and surprised that this is as good as it it because my recent past experience with their product. I can say from that first experience that their customer service is not that good at all & left a bad taste in my mouth!
These days, everyone is having multiple devices at their home. Charging all of the devices at the same time and managing countless devices with very few power sockets is a challenge I am sure everyone must be facing at their home. At lease this is what my wife and my were facing. We never had enough power sockets in our home and enough converters to allow the devices with international power adapters.
Because of this, we were heavily dependent on the charging using USB cables by connecting the USB cables in the laptop. But that is again a limited solution as we can connect only 1-2 USB cable sin the laptop and thus we eventually landed up in a situation wherein we have forget to charge the device and device run out of battery.
When we saw this USB hub, we know instantly that this is the product we were looking for. Going by the quality image associated with 1byone products, we didn't think twice while ordering this product. The product arrived same day in a well wrapped cardboard box. When we took out the hub from the box, we were pleased with the quality of this hub. The hub is made up of aluminium which makes it very durable and the look and feel of this hub is very classy.
There are in total 7 USB ports ports provided in this hub which eventually covers practically every device in our home. We can connect this USB hum with the power socket provided with this hub. Also, we can connect the same with the macbook using the attached USB type C cable and thus we can use this hub for data transmission as well.
The length of the power cable provided with this hub is very optimum and you can easily place this hub on a table while connecting the same in the power socket. This makes it very easy to connect devices in this hub and put all those devices on the table. Though it looks like a pretty trivial statement, however the importance can only be realized when you need to out your devices unsafe on floor because of the length of the cable.
In short, this device is the complete package which you can think of in order to charge your devices. We are pretty happy and stress free with the purchase of this USB hub.

USB-C is taking over and if you buy a Macbook or a Chromebook, make sure you check out with one of these.
The thing that really stands out for me about this port isn't the sleek design or the 7 slots, it's the Velcro panel that lets you stick the port to something, in my case my desk (my cat has already tried to push the port off the desk). Seriously i now need Velcro panels on everything, phone, mouse, tv remote, cat, etc.
The port has a sleek design, it's trendy and modern in look and if you have a 6 year old annoying you, you can tell her it's really a microphone and she'll sing in to it (only do this when wearing earplugs.)
The 7 slots make life easier, my chromebook for work only has 2 ports.
Overall a must have in the fast moving age of upgrades.
I received this product in exchange for an honest review.
This is a must have bit of a kit if you own the newer Mac book.
The hub itself is very well made and looks like a quality item with its brushed metal finish, it looks just like an Apple product to my eye.
As the newer Apple Macs don't have the usual 2.0 or 3.0 USB ports like older model Macs, this hub is very useful for connecting external devices that use the old type USB connections.
There are 7 ports in total with 1 port dedicated to fast charge, fast charge will only work with compatible devices although you can still use the port.
The transfer speeds on this are ridiculously fast, but it will only be as fast as your device allows.
With the hub, you also receive 2 adhesive velcro strips, one strip for the underside of the hub and one strip for your desk/surface.This greatly increases stability.
Overall i can only recommend this hub, it looks great and does its job well.
